Marc Spector joined Shekter, Dychtenberg LLP in 2006, after practicing in Toronto and Vancouver. He has an LL.B from the University of Victoria, a B.A. (Hons) from Dalhousie University and was an associate editor for the Hong Kong Construction Law Reports, while studying international law and finance at the University of Hong Kong.
A member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Law Society of Upper Canada, Marc practices civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury and professional misconduct, involving complaints against health care providers, architects, engineers, investment dealers and lawyers.
Canada-wide, he has represented corporations, governments and professional organizations in the insurance, oil and gas, construction and financial industries.
Marc was a tribunal co-ordinator for the Government of British Columbia, has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and all levels of Courts in Ontario (including the Divisional Court and Court of Appeal).
Marc contributes to the Professional Liability and Discipline Journal, Construction Law Update News Bulletin as well as Continuing Legal Education publications for the Law Society of British Columbia and the Law Society of Upper Canada. More recently, he co-authored papers on settlement strategies and the use and abuse of expert witnesses at trial amongst others.
