Mr. Dychtenberg obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) degree from the University of Toronto, graduating with distinction in 1978. He received his LL.B. degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1981. He has been in practice since 1983. In 1999 he earned a certificate for the Harvard Mediation Course offered by the Advocates Society. In 1995, Mr. Dychtenberg co-founded Shekter, Dychtenberg, LLP, with his partner, Richard Shekter, where he practices litigation. He practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, construction and commercial litigation. Mr. Dychtenberg also litigates shareholder disputes, real estate cases, injunctions, franchise disputes and disputes involving intellectual property. He has participated in a multitude of varied matters and has argued cases before the Superior Court of Ontario, the Court of Appeal and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He has been involved in some 30 reported decisions in various areas of the law. Mr. Dychtenberg has developed vast experience in resolving cases at mediation. Mr. Dychtenberg has lectured to the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada and is an instructor for the Bar Admission Court in Advocacy. As well, he is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association, the Advocates Society, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
